Description:
A warm, international family based in London is seeking an experienced and refined Russian-speaking Governess to care for and support the educational development of their 5-year-old daughter.
The father is Russian and the mother is English. The family is looking for a candidate able to naturally maintain and develop the child’s Russian language skills, while also supporting her academic and personal growth within the British school system.
This is a long-term position for a professional, cultured, and caring Governess who understands how to combine educational guidance with warmth, discretion, and excellent manners.
Main Responsibilities
- Supporting the child’s educational development and school progression
- Assisting with homework, reading, writing, and general learning activities
- Encouraging bilingual development, with a strong focus on the Russian language and culture
- Organising stimulating and age-appropriate educational activities
- Liaising with parents regarding school matters and developmental milestones
- Creating a structured yet positive and nurturing routine
- Accompanying the child to activities, cultural outings, and family travel when required
- Encouraging good manners, independence, and confidence
Ideal Candidate
- Native Russian speaker with excellent English
- Previous experience as a Governess or in an educational role with children of a similar age
- Strong understanding of child development and early school education
- Elegant, discreet, organised, and naturally caring
Commitment & Relocation
This is a committed, long-term live-in position, and the successful candidate must be prepared to relocate to London on a permanent, full-time basis. The family is not looking for a temporary or transitional arrangement, but for someone ready to make this role their primary home and focus for the foreseeable future.

- Own private accommodation provided within the family home
- Full-time commitment; this is not a part-time, temporary, or trial arrangement
- Availability to be in Hampton Court on weekends when working with the father
- Willingness and ability to travel to Russia periodically so the child can visit her grandmother
- Flexibility to accompany the family on trips and holidays as required
