Description:
Family with three children (one at boarding school, one in Year 9, one 10-year-old son) is seeking a part-time governess able to work in sole charge when the mother, who travels frequently for business, is away.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weekday household logistics: managing the family calendar, coordinating school/extracurricular schedules, liaising with vendors, and preparing for the week ahead
  • Sole charge when the principal is travelling: managing routines, meals, homework and school runs for the two younger children (10 and 13)
  • Active weekend care: engaging the 10-year-old in sports/activities and supporting the 13-year-old’s social and academic schedule
  • Logistical support for the eldest child’s transitions to and from boarding school
  • Acting as a mentor and source of emotional support for pre-teens/teens, focused on fostering independence rather than early-childhood care

Working Hours

  • Weekends: primary active care hours (Friday 7am – Monday 8am)
  • Weekdays: on-site Monday and Thursday, 4–7:30, shifting to full 24-hour sole charge when the principal is travelling (advance notice given where possible)

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience as a Career Nanny, Family Assistant or Coordinator, ideally with pre-teens/teens in HNW or corporate executive households
  • Excellent organizational skills, proactive problem-solving, “no task too small or large” attitude
  • Highly professional, emotionally intelligent, energetic, able to maintain boundaries with older children
  • Valid driving licence (required to drive in Europe) and valid passport
  • Absolute discretion and confidentiality required
  • Flexibility to accompany the family during school holidays (Italy, Ibiza, Switzerland)
